VALLEY FORGE RELAYS

MAY 21, 2018

The Haverford Middle School girls track and field team closed out the 2018 season at Valley Forge Relays on Monday, May 21st.  The sprint medley relay team of Aubrey Leneweaver, Julia Burd, Patsy Caputo, and Maddie Kent raced to a third place finish and earned bronze medals for their efforts.  Complete results from the meet are posted below as well as pictures.  

Thanks to all of the athletes and their families and friends for their dedication and support this season.  The runners, jumpers, and throwers reached many new milestones, including a new school record, and should be very proud of their hard work and accomplishments.  H-Pride!

HAVERFORD MIDDLE SCHOOL VS. ET RICHARDSON

AND PAXON HOLLOW

MAY 14, 2018

The Haverford Middle School girls track and field team hosted E.T. Richrdson and Paxon Hollow middle schools on Monday, May 14th and split the meet.  HMS defeated Paxon Hollow 120 - 18, but lost to E.T. Richardson by a score of 76-62.  First place finishers for Haverford were: Katya Eurslanova in the mile run, Maddie Kent in the 115 pound 100 meter dash, Mollie O'Dwyer in the 800 meter run, Maddie Kent in the 400 meters, Julia Burd, Ella Grygielko, Patsy Caputo, and Alyssa Seavey in the 4 x 100 meter relay team, Katya Eurslanova, Lily Walker, Mollie O'Dwyer, and Maddie Kent in the 4 x 400 meter relay, and Aubrey Leneweaver in the high jump.

HMS said goodbye to our long-time starter Mr. Jones who fired his last starter's pistol during the 4 x 400 meter relay.  We thank Mr. Jones for his years of dedication and service to the HMS track program and wish him well in his retirement as our official starter.

Thank you to all of the Fords supporters who came out to cheer the team on.  Thanks for the snack bar helpers, the finish line helpers, and for all of the athletes for working so hard and showed their H-Pride!

HAVERFORD MIDDLE SCHOOL VS. BALA CYNWYD

MAY 10, 2018

The Haverford Middle School girls track and field team hosted Bala Cynwyd Middle School on Thursday, May 10th and came away with a victory.  HMS defeated BC by the score of 107.5 - 29.5.  Every athlete made important contributions to the victory.  First place finishers were: Chiara Mariani in the 60 meter hurdles, Lily Walker in the mile run, Julianna Aiken in the Open 100 meter dash, Audrey Pham in the 95lb. 100 meter dash, Aubrey Leneweaver in the 105 lb. 100 meter dash, Maddie Kent in the 115 lb. 100 meter dash, Mollie O'Dwyer in the 800 meter run. Aubrey Leneweaver in the 200 meter dash, Erin Hughes, Audrey Pham, Mei Lyn Hulcher, and Bella Walker in the 95 lb. 4 x 100 meter relay, Anna Stoudt, Elena Kilpatirck, Kylie Ingram and Phoebe Martin in the 105 lb. 4 x 100 meter relay, Aubrey Leneweaver, Ella Grygielko, Patsy Caputo, and Alyssa Seavey in the 115 lb. 4 x 100 meter relay, Moira Vaughn, Olivia Hasbrouck, Sarah Krissinger, and Allie Walker in the Open 4 x 100 meter dash, Audrey Pham in the long jump, and Aubrey Leneweaver in the high jump.  Congratualtions to all of the runners, jumpers, and throwers on their hard work and dedication.  Full results are attached as well as photos from Thursday's meet.

VILLANOVA PENN RELAYS CHAMPS VISIT HMS

 

Several Villanova University track and field athletes and head men's track and field coach Marcus O'Sullivan made a surprise visit to Haverford to share their running experiences and answer questions from members of the HMS girls and boys middle school track teams.  They brought two of the five wheels they won at the 2018 Penn Relays carnival in April.  Thanks to HMS girls coach Chris O'Sullivan for setting up this event.  Our athletes were very lucky to have such a unique and valuable experience!  Thanks Nova Nation!

 

COUGAR CARNIVAL

MAY 3, 2016

On a hot, sunny afternoon full of track and field, the Haverford Girls Track and Field team earned third out of thirteen teams at the annual Cougar Carnival.  Results are not yet available, but enjoy some photos from the meet.  Once resutls are available they will be posted.

 

  

  

   

 

HAVERFORD MIDDLE SCHOOL VS. DH AND BH

MAY 1, 2018

The Haverford Girls Track and Field team traveled to Drexel Hill Middle School to compete against Drexel Hill and Beverly Hills on a bright, sunny, warm afternoon.  Haverford was victorious beating DH 75.5 - 60.5 and BH by the score of 77.5 - 58.5.  First place finishers for HMS were: Chiara Mariani in the 60 meter hurdles, Lily Walker in the mile run, Julianna Aiken in the open 100 meter dash, Patsy Caputo in the 105 pound 100 meter dash, Julia Burd in the 115 pound 100 meter dash, Maddie Kent in the 800 meter run, Julianna Aiken in the 200 meter dash, Moira Vaughn, Olivia Hasbrouck, Sinyae LaPera and Lily Walker in the open 4 x 100 meter relay and Katya Eurslanova, Lily Walker, Maddie Kent, and Julianna Aiken in the 4 x 400 meter relay. 

Congratulations to all of our HMS athletes who pulled together and worked hard at the meet.  Thank you to the family and friends who came out to support the Fords and to those athletes who helped at field events and at the finish line collecting times and measuring distances.

The Haverford Girls Track and Field team competed in their first home meet of the season against Tredyffrin Easttown and Radnor middle schools on a sun-filled afternoon.  The Fords emerged victorious defeating TE 73.5 - 64.5 and Radnor 112 - 25.  First place finishers for HMS were: Aubrey Leneweaver in the 105 pound 100 meter dash, Julia Burd in the 115 pound 100 meter dash, Julianna Aiken in the open 100 meter dash, Julianna Aiken in the 800 meter run, Aubrey Leneweaver in the 400 meter dash, Erin Hughes, Audrey Pham, Mei Lyn Hulcher, and Bella Walker in the 95 pound 4 x 100 meter relay, Aubrey Leneweaver, Ella Grygielko, Patsy Caputo, and Alyssa Seavey in the 115 pound 4 x 100 meter relay, and Julia Burd in the long jump.

HAVERFORD MIDDLE SCHOOL VS. RIDLEY AND WELSH VALLEY

HAVERFORD MIDDLE SCHOOL VS. ETR AND NORTHLEY

APRIL 11, 2018

The Haverford Girls Track and Field team started the 2018 season on Wednesday, April 11th at Springfield High School with one win and one loss.  Haverford beat Northley Middle School by a score of 107-29 and lost to E.T. Richardson by 9 points by a score of 73-64.  First place finishers for Haverford were: Erin Hughes in the 60 meter hurdles an event she ran for the very first time, Maddie Kent in the mile run, Lily Whittaker in the 105 pound meter dash, Patsy Caputo in the 115 pound 100 meter dash, Mollie O'Dwyer in the 800 meter run, Aubrey Leneweaver in the 200 meter dash, Aubrey Leneweaver, Ella Grygielko, Patsy Caputo, and Alyssa Seavey in the 4 x 100 meter relay, Katya Eurslanova, Lily Walker, Sarah Krissinger, and Maddie Kent in the 4 x 400 meter relay, and Maddie Kent was a triple winner after placing first in the high jump.

Many athletes competed in a running, jumping, or throwing event for the very first time and had great success.  Congratulations to all of our HMS athletes on their efforts, sportsmanship and H-Pride.  Thank you to the family and friends who came out to support the Fords and cheer the athletes on from the stands.

PENN RELAYS TRIALS

APRIL 5, 2018
 
The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Lily Whittaker, Patsy Caputo, Maddie Kent and Julia Burd traveled to Upper Darby High school to participate in the Penn Relays trials.   The team finished 11th out of 41 teams and missed qualifying for Penn relays by 0.08 of a second.  These four athltes gave 100% effort and left nothing on the track.  Congratulations on a tremendous effort, hard work and H-Pride!

2018 GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD
  • The first day of practice for the girls track team will take place on Tuesday, March 6th right after school.  All runners and throwers should meet the coaches outside of the HMS wrestling room right after changing for practice.  All required paperwork needs to be turned in to Mrs. Young in room 202 before any athlete can practice.  Scroll down to find attachments for the required forms.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Young in room 202 or send an email to pyoung@haverfordsd.net.
  • Attached are two important forms that were handed out at the spring sports informational meeting.  In addition, the schedule for the 2018 season is also attached.  All athletes must return the athlete information sheet, as well as either pages 1-6 of the PIAA physical for those athletes who did not participate in a fall or winter sport or just the parent recertification, page 7, of the PIAA physical for those athletes who played a fall or winter sport at HMS.  In addition, PIAA physical forms can be downloaded from the HMS website under Activities-Athletics-PIAA Physicals.  Athletes may not participate until all required paperwork has been returned.  The first day of practice for the girls track and field team will take place on Tuesday, March 6, 2018.  Dress warmly!  Looking forward to a great season!
