  • 2nd Grade's Market Day

The second grade classes completed a Social Studies unit titled A Working World. They learned about goods and services as well as needs and wants. In order to show everything they learned, the students took place in an activity called Market Day. Each class formed groups then wrote a business plan, created their products, set a price and advertised. Throughout the unit, the students earned Market Day money for doing their job as a student such as bringing in homework, following school rules and getting tests signed. Then, on Market Day they could use that money to go shopping around the second grade market for goods and services that they wanted. Click to see pictures.
