Monday :  JUNIOR PICTURE DAY

Objectives: Determine the number of protons, neutrons, and electrons.

1.  Question of the Day "The Atom" 

2.  View Atoms and Elements Part III (Beginning through 11:13 minutes).  Add the notes to your note packet.

3.  Guided and Independent Practice "Neutral Atom p, n, e Worksheet"

4.  Work on Adopt an Element due tomorrow night at 11:59 pm.

HW- Complete the "Neutral Atom p, n, e Worksheet" and work on Adopt an Element. 

 

Tuesday: SOPHOMORE PICTURE DAY

Objectives: Determine the number of protons, neutrons, and electrons for ions and isotopes. 

1.  QOD (Question of the Day)

2.   View Atoms and Elements Part III (11:13-20:55 minutes).  Add the notes to your note packet. 

3.  Guided and Independent Practice "Ion and Isotope Worksheet"

4.  Work on Adopt an Element due tonight at 11:59 pm.

5.  Discuss tomorrow's assignment

HW- Complete the "Ion and Isotope Worksheet" and work on Adopt an Element.

 

Wednesday (Asynchronous work, I am proctoring SATs)

Objective: Create a timeline of atomic theory development.

Activities;

1.Finish viewing Atoms and Elements Part III.  Add the notes to your note packet.

2.  Begin working on your Scientist Timeline. 

HW- Work 20-30 minutes on your timeline

 

Thursday

Objective: Determine the average isotopic mass.  Create a timeline of atomic theory development.

Activities:

2. Discuss Notes (20:55-end)

3. Guided and Independent practice average isotopic mass.

HW- Finish average isotopic mass worksheet then work on the timeline (20-30 minutes of HW).

Next week we will have an 80% assessment of Chapters 1-3: Chemistry and Measurement, and Matter and Energy.  Review the past two tests on Canvas and review current unit material.

 

Friday

Objective: Determine protons, neutrons, and electrons for ions and isotopes.  Calculate average atomic mass.  Create a timeline representing atomic theory development. 

Activities:

1. QOD: Isotopes and Atomic Mass

2. Work on Timeline (due Monday, can adjust things for Tuesday)

3.  Review Chapter 1-4 Materials (Suggested: Textbook practice p. 100-101 for Chapters 1-3 and p. 124-129 for Chapter 4.  Use red problems to practice since answers are posted.)
