Sixth graders, welcome back to school! I hope everyone had a relaxing summer and is ready to start a new chapter as a middle school student.

I'm Mr. Matthew Crater, and I'm excited to start my sixth year as Haverford Middle School's 6th-grade Assistant Principal. My career as a teacher began in Annapolis, Maryland, where I taught 5th grade for three years. After I left Maryland, I moved to Haverford, where I taught for two years in my sixth-grade science classroom.

You are now a FORD, and as the class of 2029, I challenge you to make middle school a time of growth in school and in your relationships. I am very lucky to be a part of an amazing group of administrators, teachers, staff, and parents who are all working hard to make this happen for you. Haverford Middle School is a great place to learn new things and try out new things. The teachers and support staff at the middle school are passionate about their jobs and work hard every day to make learning fun and interesting.

My family and I live in Haverford Township.   We like to go on trips and spend time on Long Beach Island, New Jersey.

As the 6th-grade assistant principal, I am committed to Haverford and excited to serve this community.
