8th Grade
James Knapp - Coach
Mr. Knapp graduated from Haverford High School in 2010, where he wrestled varsity for four years and became a member of Haverford's 100 win club. He also ran cross country, played football and baseball. He attended Shippensburg University and graduated with a degree in psychology in 2014. While at Shippensburg Mr. Knapp wrestled varsity for the Raiders at the 184 pound weight class.
Mr. Knapp is looking forward to coaching for the second year this season; primarily getting to know his athletes, while passing along his knowledge of baseball.
Besides coaching the Middle School baseball team, Mr. Knapp is a coach for the varsity wrestling team at the High School.

Ed Brocklesby - Coach
Mr. Brock started teaching at HMS in 1999.  Having a love for all sports Mr. Brocklesby "Mr. Brock" has coached 5 sports at HMS. He previously coached the boy's lacrosse team for 4 years, and the boy's soccer team for 2.  Mr. Brocklesby coached the 115lb. football team for 13 years, the wrestling team for 14 years, and has been coaching baseball here since 2003.  Mr. Brocklesby loves helping his young athletes build a strong foundation, and hopes this will carry over to the High School.  Coaching also provides him with the opportunity to teach many valuable life skills that will help his student athletes live more positive and productive lives.

Matt Cohen  - Co-Coach
Mr. Cohen has been coaching 8th grade basketball since 2000, 2002 here at HMS. Having played at Lower Merion High School, he likes now playing the new Central League opponents. Coach Cohen loves teaching the fundamentals and defensive principles. "Defending with Dignity" has been the battle cry as of late. He still plays recreationally in North West Philly when not getting dunked on by The Harlem Wizards.

Jason Finn - Co-Coach
Dr. Jason Finn: an author, U.S. Fulbright recipient, and Haverford Middle School Seminar teacher who spends the school year devising lesson plans where he can wear a wig. Since 1994, he has been crafting sublime stupidity with whimsical abandon using the calculations of a nerd, the brutality of a prison warden, and the finesse of a Frenchman. 
His philosophy? Play like you mean it with Dignity and Integrity.

Ali Hostler - Coach

Tony Miglionico - Coach
Mr. Miglionico, a.k.a. Mr. Migs, has coached basketball at HMS for four years. He has studied and played the game ever since he could dribble a basketball. Mr Migs believes in coaching the fundamentals followed by advanced strategies of the game. In his second season as a head coach he would brag that his team went undefeated, but his players would never brag as he teaches about class and sportsmanship above all. “Win the boards and you will win the game.”
 
Cheerleading
Ms. Clement has been coaching cheerleading for the majority of her life.  She began cheering when she was in elementary school and continued through high school.  Ms. Clement coached Drexel Hill Raiders cheerleading for eight years.  In 2013, her cheerleading team for Drexel Hill went to Nationals in Disney World and placed sixth in the nation!  She was one proud coach!  Along with Drexel Hill, Ms. Clement has also coached Springfield High School cheerleading for one year.  Ms. Clement is so excited to continue coaching cheerleading for Haverford Middle School!  Go Fords!!!
 
Boys' and Girls' Cross Country - 6th, 7th and 8th Grade

Trish Young - Coach
Coaching provides Mrs. Young a chance to help student-athletes set personal goals and develop a plan throughout the season to achieve them much like they need to in the classroom and life.  She believes that the middle school running programs are great ways to introduce student-athletes to running and to help develop their love for the sport, learn to work together as a team, represent their school with H-Pride, and have fun!
Mrs. Young is in her 15th year of coaching cross-country.  Mrs. Young ran cross-country and track all four years in college and has been involved in these sports either as a coach or athlete for the past 40 years. 

Gina Brocklesby - Coach
Mrs. Brocklesby started coaching cross country at HMS in 2018.  She has been teaching 7th grade Health at the Middle School since 2017 and has been a teacher in the district since 2001, teaching Health and Physical Education at both Haverford High School and Lynnewood Elementary School.  In that time, Mrs. Brocklesby also coached girls' track at HMS for 6 years and also coached the JV girls soccer team at Haverford High School for 10 years. Being a runner herself since her high school days where she participated in both track and cross country, Mrs. Brocklesby looks forward to bringing her knowledge of the sport to her athletes on the team.

Rich Considine - Coach
Mr. Considine has been an employee of the School District of Haverford Township’s Maintenance Department for the past nine years and an assistant coach of Haverford Middle School’s cross country/track teams for the last two years. He has also coached a variety of sports for several different youth organization over the past twenty years.  Mr. Considine is an avid runner.  His love of the sport began in elementary school and continues to this day.  In middle school and high school, he had the privilege of participating in the Penn Relays.  Most recently, Mr. Considine has completed many long-distance races including the Philadelphia and New York City Marathons, as well as Walt Disney World’s Dopey Challenge.  He is very excited to continue his role on the staff of Haverford Middle School’s cross country/track program.

Sandra Johnston - Coach
Sandy Johnston is a Health and PE teacher at HMS.  She is thrilled to be here and excited to have the opportunity to coach and share her love and experience for the sport with the team!  Ms. Johnston has experience playing and coaching field hockey with players with a wide range of experiences from the primary/elementary level to the varsity level high school athlete.  Her past coaching experiences are not limited to field hockey, but also include a variety of other sports including lacrosse, soccer, track and field, and basketball. Most recently she was the Lynnewood Elementary 4th/5th hockey coach, and previously a  Varsity/Head Coach at Sun Valley High School. Ms. Johnston looks forward to building on the basics, emphasizing teamwork through gameplay and strategy, and fostering an environment that allows our student athletes to show grit, determination, and pride during times of defeat and victory!  See you on the field!

Terrilynn Seavey - Coach
F-O-R-D-S, Let’s go Fords!!  Mrs. Seavey is so excited to begin her 2nd season with the Fords and is looking forward to coaching again this year! She has had the opportunity to coach field hockey at the middle and high school levels and is looking forward to building a strong team that is able to compete at a competitive level which displays sportsmanship and teamwork! Ms. Johnston and Mrs. Seavey are excited to begin the season and work hand in hand to build a “FORD TOUGH”  field hockey team!

Brian Hulea - Coach
Brian Hulea a Haverford High School social studies teacher who spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons as a volunteer 9th grade football coach for HHS. Mr. Hulea coached the 2006-2008 seasons at Coatesville Sr. High. He is looking forward to coaching the Fords football this year!

Michael Christianson - Coach
Mr. Christiansen graduated from Chestnut Hill Academy and played basketball and baseball for three years. He then attended Temple University and received a bachelor degree in Secondary Education and English. Mr. Christiansen helped coach freshman football at the High School last year and is looking forward to coaching in his first year with HMS football!

Victor Aristeo - Coach
Mr. Aristeo graduated from Cinnaminson High School in NJ in 2007, where he played football and wrestled for 4 years. He then attended Widener University where he received a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education and a Masters degree in Special Education. While at Widener, Mr. Aristeo played football for the Pride for 4 years as a full-back. This is his first year coaching football at HMS but has coached middle school football for the last 4 years. He looks forward to working with the young athletes of HMS to teach them the sport of football and build character to help them be upstanding members of the community. 

Joseph McCunney - Coach
Mr. McCunney graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School where he played football all 4 years. He is currently the building security officer at the Middle School after retired from his 25 year career as a police officer. Mr. McCunney has been the head coach and coordinator for several years for the Haverford Youth Football program since its inception in 2004. He is really looking forward to getting to know the students on a different level and making lasting connections at HMS.

Mike Huth - Head Coach
Mr. Huth has been the assistant lacrosse coach at HMS for 3 years. He has taught at HMS for 14 years, and is the Floor Hockey instructor at Camp Canadensis. Mr. Huth played soccer and wrestled in middle school, and has played ice hockey for teams in West Chester. 

Pat Sheehe- Assistant Coach
Mr. Sheehe brings a lot of experience to HMS lacrosse both as a head coach, and former player. He is an '05 graduate from West Chester University with a major in Kinesiology, and played for West Chester during the '00-'03 seasons, as well as for a West Chester club team during '03-'05. He has coached Hempfield Lacrosse Varsity from '05-'06, West Chester Club (7th-8th grade) from '07-'10, and the Blaze Lacrosse Club (7th-8th grade) from '11-'15.

Natalie Rube - Head Coach
Natalie Rube began coaching for the HMS lacrosse program in 2018 after coaching girls lacrosse at HHS (JVB) for 5 years. She attended the University of Delaware where she played on the Club Lacrosse team specializing in midfield and defense. Ms. Rube also currently coaches JV Volleyball at HHS and coached diving at HHS from 2015 - 2018.

7th Grade

Kaitlin Harris - Head Coach
Kaitlin Harris began coaching the 8th grade girls lacrosse team in 2014. Ms. Harris graduated from Drexel University in December 2013 with an Elementary and Special Education degree. She played lacrosse at Drexel all four years on defense and in the midfield. Ms. Harris also coach for the Dynamite club lacrosse 2019 team.

Kara Volpe - Coach
This is Miss Volpe's first year teaching at Haverford Middle School. She is excited to coach soccer as a way to get involved in the Haverford community. Miss Volpe has played soccer since she was five years old and continued to play at the varsity level in high school and still plays in a co-ed soccer league today. She looks forward to helping her players not only strengthen their soccer skills but develop their leadership skills and a positive attitude on and off the field.

Jessica Ramos - Coach
In addition to coaching soccer, Ms. Ramos teaches 7th grade language arts. Ms. Ramos not only strives to develop fundamental soccer skills, but leadership, teamwork, and a positive, can do attitudes.  She is very excited for the upcoming season!

Paul Karwoski - Head Coach
Mr. Karwoski has been teaching at the Middle School since 2008, and with Haverford School District since 2005. His coaching career started at Spring-Ford Middle School in 2003 where he coached the 7th grade team for 3 years. His last year at Spring-ford the team was undefeated for the season. While teaching in the Haverford Middle School Mr. K has also coached the 8th grade Softball team for 3 years and is was very happy to resume coaching as the 7th grade coach for the 2019 season.

Kevin Murphy - Head Coach
Mr. Murphy started working with Haverford Athletics in the Fall of 2004.  His Athletic Training career allowed him to spend time in the Haverford Township community, with the Philadelphia Union soccer clubs, and as a State Champion alongside  West Chester Rustin’s High School Varsity Ice Hockey Team.  Mr. Murphy is originally from Newark, Delaware where he played soccer, baseball, lacrosse, swam and ran track.  At West Chester University he competed on the Ski Team and currently plays Men’s League Ice Hockey.  Mr. Murphy works at Haverford Middle School as a Guidance Counselor.  He enjoys helping students meet expectations set by teachers, parents and themselves.  Mr. Murphy has an extremely competitive outlook and he takes pride in helping young men set goals and break personal and school records on the red oval while coaching the Middle School Boys’ Track & Field Team.

Mrs. Young is in her 6th year coaching the girls' track team after having coached the boys' track team for 7 years.  In addition, she has also coached the HMS cross-country team for the past 15 years.  Mrs. Young ran cross-country and track in middle school, high school and college and has been involved in these sports either as a coach or athlete for the past 40 years.

Shawn Fausey - Coach
Mr. Fausey has been teaching at the Middle School since 2011. He is from Dalmatia, Pennsylvania, but currently lives in Delaware.  He started wrestling in 3rd grade and placed 7th and 2nd place in the state of Pennsylvania his junior and senior years of high school. He went on to wrestle at Drexel University and after graduation started his coaching career at Haverford High School. Over the course of 7 years Mr. Fausey was a volunteer, assistant, and head wrestling coach. He not only enjoys helping his players develop their skills, but also grow a passion and joy for the sport they play. He is currently teaching 8th Grade Science at HMS.

Paul Karwoski- Coach
Mr. Karwoski has been teaching at the Middle School since 2008, and with Haverford School District since 2005. His coaching career started at Spring-Ford Middle School in 2003 where he coached the 7th grade team for 3 years. His last year at Spring-ford the team was undefeated for the season. While teaching in the Haverford Middle School Mr. K has also coached the 8th grade Softball team for 3 years and has been coaching the 7th grade softball team since the 2016 season.
