It is an honor to serve the Haverford School District community as principal of Chatham Park Elementary School. I am fortunate to be part of an outstanding school community with incredible teachers and staff that are passionate about providing a meaningful learning experience for all children.
Personally, I am a proud father and husband. We have two incredible and energetic children. I am passionate about Crossfit, the Philadelphia Eagles, and Penn State football. I also enjoy beach time with family and friends.
Educationally, I earned my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. Later, I earned both my Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership as well as a Doctorate Educational Leadership from Saint Joseph’s University of Philadelphia.
Professionally, I served as an elementary school teacher of second and fourth grades. Additionally, my experience spans K-12 education having been an administrator at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
What I have learned from serving at each level is that no matter the age group, every child deserves a champion. Champion is the role we as a staff and school community will fulfill for all children at Chatham Park. Through our daily interactions we will pass along the following messages:
Be Brave Not Perfect: Chatham Park Elementary School promotes an intellectually safe environment where mistakes are part of life’s journey. We will strive to be better tomorrow than we are today.
Practice Gratitude: Celebrate the small victories and appreciate the love and support that surrounds us every day. Choose your attitude and make note of the positive things in your life. Take time to serve your community.
Strong Mind: Read and learn something new every day. Find peace in the chaos.
Strong Body: Practice healthy habits that will allow you to enjoy a quality life with family and friends.
Lastly, as an educator and leader I believe in the power of “YET” through a growth mindset. All children provided with a safe, nurturing environment with respect given to the whole child can thrive as a learner. That same environment is extended to teachers who too must be supported as a whole person to thrive in their ability to teach all children. I believe in the power of partnership between home, school, and community to continuously enhance the learning experiences for all children we serve.
As a school, we are always seeking ways to better serve the students and families of our Chatham Park community. Feel free to call, email, or schedule a time to meet. I look forward to engaging and connecting with the Chatham Park Elementary School community in the upcoming school year and beyond.
