The 2018-19 school year is my 16th year teaching at Haverford, the school from which I graduated high school in 1989. Prior to teaching, I spent almost 10 years in the corporate world, predominantly as a technical recruiter for information technology companies. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from Villanova University, and I earned my Masters of English Language Arts and Education at Widener University. At Haverford High School, I have taught all grades and all levels, as well as unleveled electives such as Creative Writing, Shakespeare (which Mrs. Laurie Grady and I resurrected for the 2007-08 school year), the College Exam Prep Course, Research and Debate, and Poetry, which I was asked to create for the 2008-09 school year.
During the 2018-19 school year, I am teaching two sections of Advanced Placement Language & Composition and four sections of English 11-2.
My wife and I have two human children (Gwyndolyn and Colin), and we had a canine son named Dane, who is pictured above. In November 2017, we welcomed Parker, a seven-year-old chocolate lab, who would be pictured if he'd sit still long enough to be photographed.
