1:1 Chrome Devices
Collaborative Learning Environment
Students in grades 3 through 12 will be issued a Chromebook for school and home use. Students in kindergarten through 2nd grade will have access to a Chromebook while they are in school. Students in 2nd grade will bring their device home occasionally at the discretion of the teacher.
The mission of the 1-to-1 (one Chromebook to one student) program in the School District of Haverford Township is to create a collaborative learning environment for all learners. This environment will enable and support students and teachers to implement transformative uses of technology while enhancing student engagement with content and promoting the development of self- directed, responsible lifelong learners.
Prepare Our Students
A laptop will provides students with the technology and tools they need to access valuable resources throughout the connected world we live in. Our students need to be problem solvers and innovative thinkers in today’s ever-changing world. Our goal is to empower students with access to digital tools and resources so that they can personalize and direct their learning. Creating a technology-enriched learning environment allows students to pursue their unique academic interests and support learning inside and outside of the classroom - a continuum of learning - at all locations between school and home. We must prepare students for a world where they will have much more responsibility for creating and managing their own work. All of our students, regardless of socioeconomic circumstances, deserve the level playing field that access to technology can provide.
