Behavioral Threat Assessment

Article XIII-E: Threat Assessment was added to the Pennsylvania School Code to promote school safety.  This law requires that school entities establish behavioral threat assessment team(s), procedures, and reporting protocols.

The SDHT Threat Assessment Team is comprised of district employees who review incidents of threatening behavior.  They identify, evaluate, and address the risks of potential harm to the school community. The goals of this team are to keep our schools a safe and supportive environment. Threat assessment teams provide supportive measures to students who may have the intent and capacity to commit an act of violence, do harm to others, or themselves.
