Title I

Welcome to Haverford's Title I Information Center

It is the mission of the School District of Haverford Township to educate and to inspire a community of lifelong learners who become well-rounded global citizens. Our aim is to enhance educational consistency across all Haverford Township schools with high standards for all and to create a seamless educational experience for students.

One of the best ways to accomplish this goal is to nurture a partnership between families and schools that supports student learning during the school day and beyond. To provide this learning experience, Haverford invites all parents and guardians to be involved in their child's education through emails, telephone calls, and parent-teacher conferences (held twice annually). We also encourage parents to complete clearances and volunteer when possible.

In addition to the above-referenced communication, Haverford will host an annual parent meeting to review and update the district Parent Involvement Policy. At the end of each school year, parents will be surveyed about the Title I program and asked for input on use of future Title I funds.

What is Title I?
This federal program provides financial assistance to qualifying schools in order to ensure all students meet challenging academic standards.

Schools
For the 2023-2024 school year, Lynnewood Elementary School and Manoa Elementary School have met the federal criteria for Title I and are focusing these funds on the acquisition of reading skills in the primary grades. This means that Haverford receives federal dollars to enhance reading instruction in these two schools.
