REGISTRATION
All registrations, Kindergarten and grades 1-12, are completed online.
To register, a new student must be:
- A resident of the School District of Haverford Township (proofs of residency are required)
- Kindergarten students must be Five (5) years of age before September 1st of the school term
- First-grade students must be Six (6) years of age before September 1st of the school term
Families can now upload registration documents. While uploading these documents is not required for initial submission on Monday, these documents must be provided before your submission can be approved. You will continue to have access to the registration portal to upload documents at a later time.
If you are registering a kindergarten or 1st grade student, a School District of Haverford Township (“SDHT”) representative will be in touch with you to confirm your child’s registration is complete or to request additional information beginning in February. Due to the high volume of registration submissions, please allow sufficient time for us to review your submission.
AM/PM Kindergarten assignment letters will only be sent to households for whom the registration process, which includes submitting the online portion and providing all additional documents, has been completed by April 30th.
Please note:
The order in which the pre-registration submissions are recorded in the online system is only one of the determining factors in assigning students to morning or afternoon kindergarten.
Families registering students for grades 2 - 12 for the upcoming school year will be contacted in late April.
Parents/guardians must enter their child's information into our student registration system to begin the application.
- Instructions for creating an account in the online registration system can be found here.
- If your child is currently enrolled and attending school in the SDHT, you do not need to complete registration for the upcoming school year.
- Families of students registering for the 2024-25 school year will receive an email from a District representative with information about the next steps required to complete registration.
Required documents to be provided at Registration:
- Proof of birth (e.g., original birth certificate, passport, baptismal certificate)
- Proofs of residency (e.g., original deed, settlement statement, mortgage statement, current real estate tax bill, current lease (in its entirety), current PECO or Aqua bill in its entirety).
- Immunization record
- Release of Student Records Form - Please include the email address and/or fax number of your child's previous school so we can request that their records are transferred directly to the SDHT.
Additional Information:
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania requires medical and dental examinations for children entering school. The District strongly encourages families to have these examinations completed before school by their family physician and dentist as they can best evaluate your child's health and assist you in obtaining necessary treatments and corrections if needed. Forms which can be used to complete these examinations can be found here.
Answers to additional frequently asked questions (FAQs) can be found here.
PLEASE BE ADVISED: As you complete the forms and provide the necessary documentation for registration, we want to bring to your attention that residency allows the provision of free school privileges to children of school age in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The requirements of residency must be met for enrollment. If the School District of Haverford Township (“District”) determines that (a) you have supplied false information and/or (b) the information that you provided ceases to be true and you have failed to inform the District of the change in circumstances prior to or at the time the change occurred, then in addition to or in lieu of civil proceedings for collection of nonresident tuition and/or expulsion proceedings, the District may refer the matter to appropriate law enforcement officials and/or initiate a private criminal complaint against you for unsworn falsification to authorities, theft of services and/or any other applicable criminal offense.
