Flexible Instruction Day
School District of Haverford Township Flexible Instructional Days (FID) | 2024–2025
Welcome to the Haverford Township School District's Flexible Instructional Days (FID) Information Page! These days are designed to ensure uninterrupted learning during unexpected closures, such as severe weather. Here's what you need to know:
What Are Flexible Instructional Days?
Flexible Instructional Days allow students to continue their education from home when school buildings are closed. Students engage with learning materials and complete assignments independently, ensuring progress without the need for makeup days.
How Will I Know About an FID?
- Notification: Before or on the day of an FID, you’ll be notified via:
- Email, phone, and text through the School Messenger system.
- Updates on the district website and social media accounts.
- For staff, notifications are sent through the same means as families.
How Do Flexible Instructional Days Work?

- Internet hotspots are available for families without internet access.
- Schedule:
- Students work asynchronously, with support from teachers during regular school hours via email, phone, or video calls.
- Support:
- Teachers, counselors, and paraprofessionals are available to assist students, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, or English Language Learning needs.
Attendance & Participation
- Attendance: Students are marked present by completing and submitting assignments during or immediately after the FID.
- Excused Absences: Students unable to participate will be marked excused or unexcused absent based on district policies.
