FLEXIBLE LEARNING POST 3

Hello Chestnutwold Students! Scroll down and look for your grade.

Have a great week trying one of these STEAM challenges! It is not necessary to turn anything in. If you can, show someone in your home what you made. This week we are focusing on learning using STEAM activities. Next week, you'll see that the emphasis is on reading for pleasure.

Miss you!    ~Mrs. Dambman

(Go to the very end, after the STEAM challenges, if you are looking for extra online things to do.)

Can you use the Design Process? 珞

Kindergarten:

STEAM Choice Week: Try one of these STEAM challenges.

  • Design a book tower. Predict how many “STORIES” tall your tower will be before it falls over.

  • Design and make a paper airplane. Graph the distance of 10 flights.

  • Make a bridge out of Legos or a material of your choice. The bridge should have a span of 8 in. and can hold a rock the size of your fist.

  • Design a solution to keep the remote control from going missing.

  • Make a tower that is 45 in. tall with 2 pieces of computer paper and 5 in. of tape.

  • Make a roller coaster for a marble, a golf ball, a ping pong ball or any ball that you have at home.  Try to keep the ball moving for 30 seconds.

Reflection:

What worked well? What didn’t? What would you change next time?
