There are three components to this two hour online workshop.
After logging in to Schoolwires, please complete each of the three components, and comment in the comment box below the posting. Please email Jane Greenspun if you have any questions.
Many teachers are piloting mobile technology in their classrooms at Haverford. Ed Weiss, an early adapter of mobile technology in his high school World Language classes, gives teachers a broad overview of the evolution of his use of mobile technology in his classroom. Adoption of mobile technology is not a quick process. Like most successful classroom plans, it takes a great deal of work and planning. Once you have completed listening to Ed describe this process, please use the comment area below to comment on the following:
    1. What surprised you, if anything, about the information Ed described (please be specific)?
    2. What part of the process is still unclear (please be specific)?

thinking Every teacher is in a different place in regards to integrating technology into the curriculum.  For some, it is a natural progression, as they enhance their own skills and begin to see benefits to their students within their curriculum.
What successes have you had in adopting technology in your classroom beyond word processing and power point? What obstacles do you face in implementing technology in your classroom? How might mobile technology help to overcome these obstacles?
