    A bit about me...
    Miss O'Connell
This will be my thirteenth year teaching in the School District of Haverford Township.  I began in the fall of 2005 teaching kindergarten half-day at Oakmont and half-day at Lynnewood.  The following year I taught first grade here at Chestnutwold and did so for 10 years.  This will be my second year as the Chestnutwold reading specialist and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with students in kindergarten through fifth grade!  Prior to teaching, I attended and graduated from Penn State University in May 2005.  I finished taking graduate courses at Saint Joseph's University and earned a Masters of Education and Reading Specialist certification in 2009.  I love to teach and to watch students grow and learn.  I look forward to a wonderful year with your children!
Some of my favorite things: spending time with my family (especially my nephews and niece!) and friends, running, traveling, baking and cooking, reading on the beach, trying new restaurants in Philadelphia, being outside, fall weather, anything purple, Penn State football...and teaching students to read and enjoy literature!
