Activities Night

Sponsors: Mr. Mike Huth and Mrs. Trish Young
Run Dates: October through March as announced
Open to all HMS students
Location: Gym A/B, Gym D and cafeteria
Cost: $5.00 per night
Information: Activities Night is a chance for students to hang out with friends and make some new ones, too! From 7-8:30pm, there is a DJ for dancing, an open gym with basketball, ping-pong, and board games. Tickets will be on sale in the cafeteria during lunch on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during the week of Activities Night. Tickets will also be available at the door. 

All School Show - Theater

HMSTC has been a springboard for many of students here at HMS, intriguing interests and leading them toward experiences that last a lifetime.  Students take on many theatrical roles as actors, dancers, singers, stage crew, tech crew, and production staff, as it takes many hands and many talents to create a quality theatrical production. Contact Ms. Stump or Ms. Psitos for more information.

Bringing Hope Home Olympics

Run Dates: Spring Conferences
All students participate in physical activities to raise funds for Bringing Hope Home, a local organization which supports cancer patients and their families in the local area. 

Geography Bee

Run Dates: Mid November to mid January
All students participate within their Social Studies classes for round one of the competition
Location: Social Studies Classes for round 1, Room 286 for semi-finals (end of December) , Auditorium - Final Round (January)
Information:  The Haverford Middle School geography bee starts in November and finishes in January! Every student in the Middle School has the opportunity to participate in the National Geography Bee through their social studies classes. Once the student has answered seven random questions correctly in their class, they advance to the semi-final round with Mrs. Clouse in January. When ten students emerge as the finalists of the school, there is a final round of competition in the auditorium.
WEEKLY GEOGRAPHY BEE QUESTIONS:
Every week, students will have the opportunity to answer three questions relating to geography. The students may use any resource material (atlas, world almanac, or the internet) to find the answer to the questions. There will be prizes awarded in January to the top three students who answer the most questions correctly

Potter Cup

Location: Haverford High School or Marple High School
Open to all students.
Information: The annual Potter Cup activity takes place every January. The middle school students of Haverford and Paxon Hollow come together for an afternoon and evening of games, activities, food, and friendship to support Alex's Lemonade Stand. Over the past fourteen years, our combined efforts have raised more than $480,000 to help battle childhood cancer.
