


School District to Offer Summer Music Program Again to Township Residents
Online Registration Now Available
Residents of Haverford Township are once again invited to enroll their children in The School District of Haverford Township Summer Music Program for elementary and secondary students. The program offers a unique summer experience for children interested in music; whether they want to advance their instrumental skills or learn the basics, the program has something for everyone.
Registration forms for each session are available online or from the district's music teachers. All forms must be submitted by May 17. There will be a meeting in the Haverford High School Auditorium on Wednesday, May 16at 7:30 p.m. for 3rd grade parents regarding the beginning instrumental program.

The School District of Haverford Township would like to invite you to attend our First Annual Post-Secondary Transition Fair. It is our mission to provide families and students with valuable information about the supports available to you as you plan, with us, your child’s transition to post secondary education, employment, and independent living. A variety of representatives will be available to speak to students and families.
May 7, 2012, Haverford High School, 6:00-8:00pm.Our School Guidance program provides instruction to children (K – 5) on how to understand the difference between teasing and bullying and what to do when bullying happens. Please check the ever growing lost and found section in the school. If your son or daughter has come home missing some clothing items they may be located in the Lost and Found bin.
We have developed a New Absence Excuse Form to use when you child is sick, arriving late or leaving early. The Pennsylvania Department of Education collects mandated data through an electronic reporting system called the Pennsylvania Information Management System (PIMS). School attendance data will be reported electronically to the Department of Education. It is important that we report attendance accurately according to these new requirements.
A reminder that all family vacation time, where children will be taken out of school, must be approved by Mr. Marsella at least 10 days in advance. When filling out the request form please make sure to indicate that there will be an educational component to the travel. Mr. Marsella is only permitted to give approval for 5 consecutive days of absence. Any time beyond that will be recorded as unexcused. Pre-arranged Absence/Vacation Form
