burnett Valerie L. Burnett, Ed. D.
Director of Pupil Services and Special Education
Dr. Burnett joined the School District of Haverford Township in August of 2008. Following 16 years as a Special Education teacher, she has served as an administrator in West Chester, Lower Merion, and most recently as the Director of Pupil Services in the Rose Tree Media School District. Her interest in special education began through volunteer work as a teenager in her community and high school.
Dr. Burnett earned her undergraduate degree in special education from West Chester University. She holds a masters degree in special education from Penn State University, and her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Immaculata University. Dr. Burnett oversees special education, gifted education and all aspects of pupil services including counseling, psychological services, student assistance and school health. Dr. Burnett resides in West Chester with her husband where she continues her volunteer efforts with Adopt-a-Highway and Habitat for Humanity.
Fred Brown
Director of Data and Assessment

Mr. Brown is the Director of Data and Assessment in the School District of Haverford Township. Mr. Brown is the primary contact for all external student data requests and he provides needed data to state and school based staff. He analyzes data, identifies strengths and areas for improvements and disseminate best practices between schools and from other organizations in the area of assessment, data analysis and decision making. He also oversees the Technology Department. 

Mr. Brown joined Haverford in 1975 as a 7th grade math teacher and also taught 6th, 8th, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 until 2004. He then became a Secondary Math Coach until 2008. For the past 8 years, Mr. Brown was the K-12 Math Curriculum Coordinator where he provided leadership, oversight and guidance for K-12 Mathematics. As the Math Coordinator, he supported the communication, coordination, planning, implementation, and monitoring of math programs across the district. Mr. Brown received his BS from Ursinus College, MA in Math Education from Penn State University, and an Administration Certificate from Eastern University.
Mr. Brown resides in King of Prussia with his wife, where he enjoys golfing and serving as Property Chairperson and Personnel Chairperson at their church. 

henderson Richard Henderson
Business Manager

Mr. Henderson is the Business Manager in the School District of Haverford Township.  Mr. Henderson joined Haverford with experience in both the public and private sectors.  A native of Pensacola, Florida, he began his accounting career with Scott Paper Company. As a father of four children, Mr. Henderson understands the importance of a good education and accepted the position of Accounting Director for the Philadelphia School District in 2004. He later went on to be the Business Manager in the Southeast Delco School District before joining the School District of Haverford Township. Mr. Henderson received his MBA from St. Joseph's University. 
Mr. Henderson appreciates working with an excellent staff and an administration committed to their students' education.  He approaches this position with the experience and dedication necessary to navigate difficult financial times. 


Gregg A. Parker, Esq.,
Director of Human Resources & General Counsel

Mr. Parker has served as the solicitor for the Board of School Directors here in Haverford since 1996. In 2012, Mr. Parker became in-house General Counsel and Director of Human Resources for the District. Mr. Parker is a Delaware County native and a graduate of Interboro High School, Swarthmore College and the Dickinson School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1984.
Mr. Parker's professional experience includes several years at the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), first as a law clerk and then as a lawyer in the Office of Chief Counsel where he advised the State Board of Education, the Secretary of Education and PDE. He then moved on to private practice, at Fromefield and Defuria in Media, PA, and then in the litigation department at Blank, Rome, Comiskey and McCauley in Philadelphia. Mr. Parker formed and practiced as a partner at Catania and Parker, LLP in Media for 24 years. His law practice was varied and included representation of school districts and other municipal entities.
He resides in Havertown with his wife and 4 children, all proud Alumni of Haverford High School.
