Elementary Gifted Program Inquiry

      During the 2010-2011 school year, an ad hoc committee comprised of Board Members, parents , teachers, principals, and administrators. The committee will offer observations and considerations in April 2011. Essential questions will consider

• What are we currently doing?
• What does the research about best practices say?
• What does Chapter 16 require?
• Do we have well defined present education levels?
• To what extent are general and gifted education teachers addressing the present educational levels?

Expected outcomes:

o   Recommendations for service delivery model

o   Alignment with best practices in curriculum and scheduling

o   Recommendations for resources, materials, staff development
