Food Free Birthday Celebrations

We celebrate birthdays in third grade by singing and handing out a special birthday treasure. Food is not part of our school celebration although we have a few suggested alternatives:

• Donate a book to our classroom library. Please include a note and your name inside the book. We will read your book to the class and celebrate with a special activity.
• Choose a game, from our class list, to play during our class meeting time.
• Show a talent. Perform for our class.
• Donate a school supply to our birthday box that will be given out by the University of Pennsylvania's medical staff to students who visit their medical clinics in South Philadelphia and Kennett Square.
  

If your child has a summer birthday, he/she may celebrate it near the end of the school year or as a half birthday.

Private Parties

If your child is having a birthday party and wants to invite children from the class,please use the school directory and mail the invitations. PARTY INVITATIONS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE DISTRIBUTED AT SCHOOL. Thanks for your understanding!
