NOW ACCEPTING new registration for the 2017-18 school year.
Registration Deadlines to be guaranteed that you child will be able to start on the first day of the new school year are:
Tuesday, August 29th, for elementary school students
Friday, August 25th, for middle and high school students
Please read the following paragraphs before clicking on "Online Student Registration Link" below the Tips and Suggestions.
FIRST: Registration for the current school year can take place at any time. The process takes 2-3 days, depending upon circumstances. You can help make the process go smoothly by being prepared with all of the necessary documents when you come in for your appointment.
SECOND: When you get to the Gateway program click on the word START in the lower left. Then you will create a user name and password to get started. Make careful note of them, in case you should have to go back into the site for any reason.
THIRD: Please carefully read each page and fill in the information requested. After you complete each page, you will click on SAVE AND NEXT at the bottom right of the page to move forward. Be sure to include the last school your child attended, even if it was a preschool, daycare, or nursery school. If you are unable to move forward, you probably missed filling in a piece of required information. It will be highlighted in pink. At the bottom of this email is a list of tips/requests for good data entry.
FOURTH: Several of the screens will prompt you to print out a form that must be filled out by hand (not just signed) and brought with you to your appointment. If you would like, all of those forms are listed below, and you can print them from this site. In addition, you will also need to provide your child's birth certificate and immunization record as well as proof* that you own or rent your home in Haverford Township. For middle and high school students we will also need a copy of their most recent report card(s) that shows at least two sets of grades. Lastly, if your child has an IEP or a 504 Plan, you will need to provide a copy in addition to the evaluation that lead up to the creation of that document. It is very important that you bring these documents with you to the registration appointment. If you do not have them, please obtain copies from your child's current school before coming to your registration appointment. This will insure continuity of services. On the last screen, you will see the statement I have completed this student. Be sure to check the box under that statement before clicking on SAVE AND NEXT.
FIFTH: Before you leave Gateway, you will have the opportunity to make an appointment to bring in all of the paperwork. Your appointment will be at the Oakmont Administration Building. Registration appointments are scheduled Tuesday through Friday between the hours of 8 and 4.If you do not see an appointment time that works for you, please call the registrar at 610-853-5900, ext. 7139.
TIPS and SUGGESTIONS Type in lower case with initial caps on proper names. Please do not type in all upper or all lower case. The "parent/ guardian" fields are to be used for the parents with whom the student lives. For example, if the students lives with father/stepmother, the stepmother's information is entered in the "Parent/guardian"" section. If there is a non-custodial parent involved, that parent's information should be entered as "second family information" In the "emergency contacts" section, do not use the same people as in the "parent/guardian" section as "emergency contacts." We already have that information, and the schools will always call parents first in an emergency. This section is for one or two other people who might be able to help in an emergency. Make sure you provide a fax number for the student's previous school on the Records Release Form. If you don't have it, please call the school and get it.
