I am currently on maternity leave. I will return to Coopertown in September 2017. Keep reading!
Hi! My name is Janette Heil (Heil rhymes with Kyle) and I am excited to be switching roles at Coopertown this year. I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with students in grades K-5 as Coopertown's Reading Specialist. This is my seventh year teaching in the School District of Haverford Township, and my fourth year at Coopertown. Previously I taught Primary Learning Suppport at Coopertown. Before joining the Coopertown family in September 2013, I was lucky enough to spend time teaching in the other four elementary buildings. I also have three summers of experience teaching elementary Extended School Year at Manoa.
I grew up in West Chester, PA and graduated from Elizabethtown College in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in Special Education. In 2015 I completed my Master of Education in Reading at Cabrini College. I am a member of the Keystone State Reading Association and the International Literacy Association.
My husband, Chris, and I live with our daughter, Penny, and our three cats in King of Prussia. In my free time I enjoy reading, running and working out, knitting, and cheering for the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. I also enjoy spending time with my parents and my younger brother, Dan.
I am looking forward to another great year of teaching and learning. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have a question, comment, or concern. Email is the best way to reach me, but I check my voicemail at least once each day.
